Frances Boysen of Homestead went to be with the Lord at 6:30PM, October 14, at home with her family. She was born in Savannah, Georgia on June 2, 1925, the daughter of Estelle and Alfred H. “Bub” Robbins. Her family moved to Homestead in the late 1940’s where her father owned and operated a store on Flagler Avenue. Frances went to work for Bell Telephone Company as an operator, then later, in the early 1950’s, was one of four people who comprised the telephone company business office on NW 2nd Street in Homestead next to...

Frances Boysen of Homestead went to be with the Lord at 6:30PM, October 14, at home with her family. She was born in Savannah, Georgia on June 2, 1925, the daughter of Estelle and Alfred H. “Bub” Robbins. Her family moved to Homestead in the late 1940’s where her father owned and operated a store on Flagler Avenue. Frances went to work for Bell Telephone Company as an operator, then later, in the early 1950’s, was one of four people who comprised the telephone company business office on NW 2nd Street in Homestead next to the Margaret Ann grocery store. She continued with Bell, and Southern Bell, Telephone Company until her retirement in 1991, after which she served as School Secretary at Avocado Elementary School.



She was a member of First United Methodist Church; the United Methodist Women; and the Telephone Company Pioneers. She served as a member of the Board of Directors of the First United Methodist Church Day School and as a volunteer and member of the Board of Directors of The Tropical Everglades Visitors Center. She also served as a volunteer at the James Archer Smith and Homestead Hospitals. She was a member of the Cutler Ridge and Homestead Women’s Clubs.



Frances is survived by her daughter, Ann Summersill of Rome, GA as well as sons John R. Robbins (Diana) of Homestead and John W. Lowe, Jr (Susan) of Huntsville, AL; eight grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. Arrangements are under the direction of Caballero Rivero Palms Woodlawn Funeral Home, Naranja, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Diabetes Association or the charity of your choice in her honor.
